On July 23rd, we headed of to go camping at Redfish Lake. We were unsure if Todd was even going to be able to go so I hadn't been planning for it, so as soon as we found out I got my lists together and got stared on packing. We went last year with Orrin and it was a lot easier to pack for a 10 month old then it is to pack for TWO children, one of those being a newborn. We were very lucky to get to stay in a camper trailer from 1985, The Taurus, but I think that was more difficult then just packing up a tent and heading out. Friday morning rolled around and I had everything packed... I thought... as we got on the road pulling this camper trailer which didn't make things easy Todd asked if I had sleeping bags and pillows, UMM NOOO! Who needs those things when camping anyways, so after getting in a little trouble Todd turned the trailer around and we headed back 3/4 of a mile to get just what I forgot. On the road again we once were headed on the two hour drive with trailer in tow. I was so excited to finally make it up there, Leila slept the ENTIRE time and Orrin was the best he has ever been on a ride in the car. We stopped at the cabin had lunch and headed to Redfish to set-up. Todd got the tent set up that him and Orrin would sleep in, while I managed to get 7 mosquito bites on one arm in that time. I got Leila and my blow up mattress set on top of the dining room table in the Taurus. We soon slathered on the sun screen and headed down to the rocky beach to play in the cold water and bask in the sun. This is how we spent the next two days. Playing in the sun, catching minnows, eating until we were stuffed, sitting around the camp fire singing PUNK to my brother-in-law rocking it on the acoustic guitar, and me getting my blood sucked by those darn mosquitoes. It was a wonderful weekend and I was sad to load up and head back knowing that was probably the only time we would go camping this year. I added a few pictures of the trip, but didn't take as many as I wanted.

Comparing the two kids...

Today we had Leila's two week appointment (even though we are closer to three.) She weighed in at 8 pounds 6 ounces, her head has grown an inch, and they didn't check her length. She had to have her second PKU test, which was a breeze compared to Orrin's (the IN-TRAINING nurse practitioner had to finally slice his foot with a razor blade UMM... OUCH.) The doctor indeed agreed with me about Leila having reflux, but with how well she is gaining weight he doesn't want to put her on medicine until that changes. So I guess we will be dealing with LOTS of spit up until she grows out of it! I was looking back at all of Orrin's pictures and realized they do look pretty similar, with just a few differences. Leila (thank GOODNESS,) did not get those pointy ears, she has bigger cheeks, Orrin had a lot less hair, and Leila has a lot deeper complexion. All in all though you can definitely tell they are siblings. Oh our sweet blessing.

My Two Cuddle Bugs

I have noticed a lot more lately that both of our kids LOVE to cuddle. It seems like when they take their morning nap in our bed they like to be next to each other, Orrin a little more than Leila though. Like in my previous post we have been spending a lot of time outside and we all love it. This week we took Orrin to Hop 2 It, which of course he LOVED!! I take Leila to the doctor tomorrow to get her second PKU test done BOOO, as well as do her normal check-up. I have a feeling this little one has gained weight, as well as gained a lovely thing I like to call REFLUX. She spits up and not just a little... A LOT of spit up. I have watched what I eat to make sure that wasn't it for about the last week and it just doesn't matter she just loves to soak every outfit and blankie I have her in. Her umbilical cord fell off so she got to take a shower with me yesterday and to my surprise she actually liked it, thank goodness because she hated doing baths. I am so blessed to have such an easy baby and such a great little helper. I have really enjoyed the last week and a half with my little ones, but can't believe it has gone by so quickly. I of course put up a few pictures and will put up more tomorrow after Leila's appointment. I also hope to get out my birth announcements soon, I will post one here so you can have a sneak peak tomorrow.

Fourth of July
We had a very fun-filled weekend to celebrate the 4th of July. It included a ton of family, a ton of fireworks, and most importantly a TON of good food. On the fourth we went to church and then that night went to my brother and sister-in-laws home to watch the fireworks and enjoy company. Orrin had an absolute blast and was so excited for the fireworks, he sat in Todd's lap the entire time and would say "wow," to every firework he saw or heard. Leila of course just slept the whole time, which I think is all she did in my tummy as well because she hardly moved. We then went over to my parents and had a little firework show there, Orrin liked those even better because Uncle Zachie did them. The following night we went to my mother and father-in-laws house for the annual 4th of July celebration they always put on. This year there was an entire roasted pig to eat along with many side dishes. Todd was in charge of the firework show and it was spectacular. Orrin of course loved those as well and could hardly hold still because he wanted to be out helping daddy. Again another quite day with sweet little Leila, but we did manage to get a few pictures of them in their outfits. Onto the fun we had this week. I took Leila to get her newborn pictures and I can not wait to see them all. It was quite the day and I am so grateful that my mom could be there to help with Orrin. Leila of course did pretty well, except for maybe the first 30 minutes. I couldn't believe when I looked at the clock that we had been there for three hours, but it was so worth it. I had the family over for dinner and made a very yummy cake. Orrin got a little carried away being "Cookie Monster," and after seeing the mess he made I had to take a picture! We also decided to get Orrin a little pool and slip n' slide, which he loves! I have to watch him very carefully as he loves to run and jump in the pool. I am so glad that summer is actually here to stay and we have had such decent weather. I have a feeling we will be spending many unforgettable hours out in the sun!

Church Time
So today we decided to go to church, I just felt so inclined to go as it was fast Sunday. Luckily church starts at 12:30 so that gave me plenty of time to get everyone ready, and yes that includes Todd. I packed Orrin's back-pack as I usually do and Todd got the car seats into the Mustang and away we went. Leila was such a sweet little spirit the entire time, and Orrin well he played and kept asking during the passing of Sacrament when the water was coming. It is so funny what little ones remember. As we sat there I was overwhelmed with emotion and knew it was time to stand, it took some courage but I made my way up. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have the gospel in my life and the knowledge of eternal families. My husband is pure strength in our family and for that I am so thankful. We made it through the three hours of church without any real hiccups. I had Todd take some pictures before we headed off when I knew everyone was happy. Another little note we will be blessing little Leila August 1st for those of you who would like to attend. Afterwards we will most likely be doing a lunch time thing at our home, more details to come as plans are finalized.

A Day With Orrin
Well Orrin has been a dream when it came to welcoming sweet little Leila into our family. It also helps that Leila sleeps all day long and spends a lot of time in her swing so Orrin and mommy can play. Well the other day he was just full of it and wanted to run in a million different directions. He has become very helpful, and the pictures show just how helpful he really is. There is also a picture of him after he spent an hour out in the shop with Daddy. Now I am not too sure how he managed to get dirt all over his face, but he did and he was very happy to be out there so WHO CARES! Orrin loves to hold "sisty," and as soon as he wakes up wants to hold her and give her kisses. After the initial morning routine of kisses he really doesn't care much about her. I am so grateful to have such a great little guy. He makes us smile all the time, and reminds me SO much of his daddy! I have decided it may be time to invest in a TOY STORY (his new favorite thing) slip n' slide, I think he will love it and we can spend a lot of time outside. I'll keep you all posted on how that goes.

Being Home

As I said before we got to take Leila home after just 14 hours of being at the hospital which I was so grateful for. Orrin has been sick and Ms. Leila has had her nights and days mixed up so getting a good nights rest hasn't quite happened yet. She is a very good baby though and only cries when she is hungry. We went to the doctor on Tuesday and everything looks well. She was down to 6 lbs. 13 oz., which is what Orrin weighed when he was born. I still can't believe he was ever that tiny. Leila is a very petite little girl even though she was bigger than Orrin. Her head measured only 12 3/4 inches and Orrin's was 14 1/2 inches... thank goodness it was smaller. Her fingers and toes are very long, and she looks more and more like Orrin as each day passes. Orrin loves her and will give her kisses on the head, but really isn't too concerned or interested in her. He keeps busy playing with his toys while she stays busy swinging in her swing and eating. We are truly blessed to have this little girl in our eternal family and I couldn't be more thrilled. We did her first bath yesterday and as you can see by pictures she wasn't a huge fan, but what sweet little baby is. I am doing well and am almost back into my pre-pregnancy pants already, but have a feeling they won't get much use as going out with two kids is much harder than going out with one. I have noticed after having her that I have much more energy then I did with after Orrin was born. I go all day without a nap and all night without sleep, so I am quite pleased that my house is clean and I don't look like I have been hit by a bus yet. I also need to thank all of those that have brought us meals this week. It has been so nice to not have to worry about dinner, and to see everyone. I hope to blog as often as possible, so I will have record of everything as I am a horrible scrapbooker. Look forward to more posts.
