BED REST

Well, I have been put on "modified," bed rest. At my 38 week appointment we found out that I was almost 3 cm dilated and this little girl's heart rate had lowered by quite a bit. The doctor was also concerned that I had lost almost 6 pounds in just a weeks time, so he decided it would be best if I just relax and stay in bed until this little one comes. He set a follow up appointment for Friday (which was a NIGHTMARE,) it turned out a little better for me as he said I could be up and moving a few hours out of the day. So lets get into this Friday appointment, first I had to take Orrin, then my doctor wasn't even there and we sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes waiting to be brought back, I then had to give the normal urine sample no big deal unless you have a 2 year old opening the door while your pants are down trying as fast as you can to shut it while in turn knocking the pee off its holder where most of it ended on me YUCK, then having to go see a doctor who knew nothing about my situation, and finally spending the next few hours hooked up to a monitor at the hospital. She is still safe in there, the doctor just thinks she is so far into my pelvis that it is causing her to stress out and possibly a little bit of cord compression since I have been having contractions. I am still losing weight which isn't a good thing, but the doctor said I am still in "normal," range so he isn't too worried. We will see how things go on Tuesday as that is when the doctor wants to decide a course of action. After much praying Todd and I had decided to let things go natural and now we may be going the other route. Oh well, as long as she is here safe it doesn't matter to us. As of today I have 9 days left until my due date! YAY! Here are two pictures of Orrin and I hanging out at the hospital. He was very upset for the first 20 minutes or so that they had me hooked up to the monitors... he kept saying, "Mama, Laya ouch. No, no!" as he would try to pull the straps of my stomach. There is also one of me at 38 weeks 4 days pregnant after we got home from the hospital. Not the greatest picture, but it shows my stomach. I will keep this blog updated as well as possible, we will just see how things progress.

Our Nursery

I figured it is about time I post about the nursery. I had a lot of trouble deciding how I wanted to do the nursery, as Orrin and Leila will share it at some point in time until I am ready to move Orrin clear across the house from us. I picked out a very pretty turquoise and went to work, however I just didn't like it and changed it the next day. I painted half the wall and put up chair molding around the paint line, I love it now and the color is a perfect match to the quilt I did for the bed. I still need to finish the curtains, but for some reason my machine is acting up. I have become a huge etsy fan (thanks to Kristy,) and found some amazing white frames that I hung on the wall. I put fabric in a few and put ribbon in one to hold all of Leila's hair bows which I got from our shower. I also bought some cardboard letters of an "O" and "L" and contemplated what to do with them for the last 3 months, I finally decided to lay my extra fabric on them and hang them in with the frames. I love how they turned out and they were so easy. We have Orrin's crib that he will still sleep in, Leila will sleep in her bassinet until she no longer can then we will go from there. I can't wait to welcome a little girl to our little family. It will be very soon.

The Joys of the Last Month...

As I hit my 37th week of pregnancy, I finally remembered why pregnancy isn't very much fun. With Orrin I was so lucky I was able to wear my normal clothing clear up until the end, with little Leila and her chocolate cravings that ended at 5 months for my pants and just now for my shirts. I can't bring myself to buy new shirts so now I am walking around with too small shirts, a cute waddle, swollen feet, a beatiful outtie belly button, and what my father-in-law calls the glowing face I just consider it chunky! As any women that has gone through pregnancy knows, you can no longer sleep at night. Luckily for my baby shower my Aunt T came up and brought me her pregnancy pillow she used and that has helped SO much. I have been wanting to "nest," so bad but unfortunatley I am so exhausted it hasn't happened as well as I planned. I do have all her clothes and put away. I wish I could snap my fingers and my house be spotless, but that doesn't happen. I contemplated hiring a house cleaner to come and do all the things that I just can't do anymore, but can't bring myself to do it. I will post pictures soon of this pregnant belly. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and we will decide what to do from there. I can be induced in two weeks if I would like, but for some reason I can't decide if that is what I want to do again. I have been praying about it, so I will keep you posted on my choice.

Orrin At His Finest

Orrin is growing into quite the little man, he will be 20 months soon. He loves being outside, anything to do with trucks, loaders, Elmo, and dogs. He has become friends with twin boys that are about 3 months older than he is. Hudson, Tate, and Orrin love to have play dates and one ends up hitting the other and drinking from another ones cup. Kristy and I have just learned to ignore most of it unless one is crying. I can't wait for this summer when we can all enjoy picnics and taking the boys on fun get aways. Orrin eats much more and definitely has his favorites such as: Popcorn, any fruit, cheese, and anything daddy is eating. Orrin loves his daddy more than anything and is still Todd's little "TWINKLE." We got Orrin some bunnies and he loves to chase them around the lawn. He is talking so much now and other people are able to understand him now. He goes potty on the big boy potty most of the time as long as we are home, which makes me so happy! Soon this little guy will be a great big brother to his "Aya." I can't wait to watch him with her.

My Sweet Boys

Today has been one of those days. As I could hear Orrin in his bed, wide awake at 6:45 I wasn't too sure if I wanted to drag my tired, pregnant self out of bed quite yet. However, when I decided to go get him and he gave me a sweet kiss and SQUEEZE hug I was happy I did. This little guy has changed my life in so many ways. He has shown me that no matter what I look like someone can still love me, that the house can be filthy and he doesn't mind, that I can not do the greatest job in mommy-hood one day and he forgets about it in 15 minutes. My life now revolves around Orrin and I wouldn't have it any other way. For Mother's Day Todd is getting me a patio furniture set, but I have yet to find one I absolutely love. He is such a great husband and an even better daddy. He has given me the gift of our children and the gift to stay home with them. He makes me so happy, we have our rough times but who doesn't. I am so grateful I GET to spend eternity with him.

So now that we all know I am pregnant here we go on the details. I found out October 19th, I was pregnant and it was a very happy day. I went to the doctor soon after and was able to see the sweet little thing growing in my tummy. I am due on my birthday, June 28th and couldn't be more excited. I am now 34 and a half weeks along and it is starting to go by a lot quicker than it did with Orrin. We found out we were having a little girl, and I think I am more excited then Todd is. We have decided to name her Leila Suria, Leila after Todd's great-grandmother Callen, and Suria after a lady who he called his second mother while on his mission. I have been busy at work making things for her and getting the nursery ready, we only have one room close to us in the new house so Orrin and Leila will have to share for a while. This is pregnancy is definetly much different than with Orrin, and she doesn't move as much as he did. I am hoping that is a sign of what is to come because Orrin is a CRAZY MAN! We can't wait to welcome her!

AFTER A LONG TIME AWAY...

I figured it was about time I updated my blog as much has changed and gone on since the last time I did. I believe my last post was after Orrin's birthday. I will slowly but surely try to touch on all the special events that have happened. Starting with oldest event and working our way forward.

• Orrin and I took a trip during the middle of October to visit my Grandpa and Carolyn in Oregon for four days. Orrin was a wonderful little traveler; however, it is not easy packing everything a one year old needs in an airport. We got there and the weather was wonderful. We absolutely enjoyed our time with them and are so grateful for the hospitality. While we were there I wasn't feeling too hot and knew something was brewing. I decided to take a pregnancy test and sure enough got a very solid positive line! It was so hard keeping the news from Todd, but I wanted to be able to tell him in a special way! We finished up our trip and the "THREE," of us headed home. We arrived in Boise late, but I decided I wanted to drive home as the news was killing me. We pulled down our driveway, I got Orrin out of the car and ready to show daddy our news! While in Oregon I found an adorable "I'm A Big Brother," shirt and knew it was perfect. It was a dress on him, because apparently no one is a big brother until size 4T. Knowing Todd wouldn't really pay attention to the shirt, I also wrote a little post car that said, "Daddy, I am going to be a big brother," and hoped Orrin would hand it to Todd once he saw him. Sure enough and daddy was so excited. I will share more pregnancy on a different post.
• Next HUGE event is ... A NEW HOUSE! Todd and I had talked from the time we had dated on the enjoyment we would have or owning a home that was big enough for our future family and one that our kids could grown up in and then bring their kids to. It soon became a distant dream as the home we had was wonderful and worked perfectly us at the time. That dream soon came popping back into my head as I drove on a road I never traveled and saw a home for sell that I fell in love with. I went home that night called my mother-in-law and said I wanted to look at this home, not knowing the price or anything, I JUST KNEW!! Luckily Todd was on board and we soon were walking up to the steps of our soon-to-be home! As soon as I walked in and Orrin took off like he owned the place I knew I had to have it. We talked about it, looked at a few other places, and went back to this particular home many times! Todd and I both prayed about it and decided it was a great choice for us. We did what we had to do and received the keys on November 20Th, and slept here that same night! We absolutely love the house and have been so blessed that we were able to upgrade at such a down time in the economy. As for our old home, it sat on the market since late October until just two weeks ago when we were back in the title company this time signing papers to sell the home!! Again the blessing we have received during this time are tremendous. So happy we didn't have to pay two mortgages for longer than we did.
• We can just kind of talk about all the holidays together as they are the same every year! Orrin was the cutest Dinosaur for Halloween, he would "ROAR" every time I put him in the outfit. As far as Thanksgiving goes, my mom and sister were in Moscow with my brother so that just left my dad and us to celebrate. I cooked the traditional sausage souffle for breakfast and for dinner we had a feast of turkey (my first EVER, and Todd said it was the best turkey he EVER ate considering he hates it that is a very big compliment,) green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, and so on. It was very nice and quiet little holiday. As for Christmas it was wonderful. We bought our Christmas tree from the guy we always but it from. We decided we needed about an 8 foot tree, (we are used to our old tall ceilings,) well we got it home and it was about two feet too tall. I felt like Christmas Vacation with this huge tree going to poke through our ceiling. Todd cut it down and I decorated it soon after. This year I decided I wanted a train to go around the tree for Orrin, so I found the perfect one at WalMart. HE LOVED IT!! Orrin understood Christmas this year a little more than last and loved opening his gift. Santa definitely spoiled him, but when he is as cute as he is he deserves it!! Todd also was spoiled as I searched for two months prior to find him all the old Transformer toys, if you know my husband you know he is just a little kid in a HUGE package!!! He also did a wonderful job getting me gifts. We didn't go all out on gifts for each other this year, as we decided we wanted to give to one of Todd's co-workers and his kids. It felt much better to give than too receive and I am glad Todd felt that way as well.
• Onto the new year... We have welcomed it full swing and are excited for the many adventures we get to celebrate this year soon with the FOUR of us. We have already celebrated Easter, and Orrin did great with the eggs. He knew mommy a.k.a THE EASTER BUNNY, hid candy in the eggs so he was on a hunt. Both Todd and Orrin received an Easter basket as I do every year. They loved them. Onto many more holidays...

I'll now have to add pictures, but unfortunately I have to do that from my other computer so it may take a bit. I am so grateful for the blessings I have received and the gift of a wonderful son and husband.
